FIELD: rail vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is device (1) for measuring electric power consumed by rail vehicle from high-voltage power supply line. Device includes current sensor (5–7) connected to said power supply line (L), resistive voltage divider (23) connected between power supply line (L) and grounding electrical terminal (22; 32c), first processing devices (9–13) connected to current sensor (5–7) and configured to generate signals or data reflecting intensity of current consumed from power supply line (L), and second processing devices (41–45) connected with output (28) of voltage divider (23) and configured to generate signals or data reflecting voltage of power supply line (L). Current sensor (5–7) and associated processing devices (9–13), as well as voltage divider (23) are located in cavity (18) inside linear insulator (2). Terminal (28) with the least potential of voltage divider (23) is connected to plate-like element (30) made of electroconductive material and passing outside cavity (18) of said insulator (2). Hollow housing (32) made of electrically conductive material and connected to ground in which said second processing devices (41–45) are located is connected to lower end of insulator (2). Hollow housing (32) has plate-like wall (32a) located opposite plate-like element (30) at a given distance, suitable for joint formation of discharger (40).

EFFECT: design of a device for measuring electric power consumed by a rail vehicle, having an innovative architecture, which, in particular, provides high reliability even in the presence of considerable overvoltage (voltage surge).
