FIELD: motor vehicle industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive suspension. Method of determining efficiency of shock absorber in vehicle suspension consists in the fact that static load is measured from wheel to vibrating table. Vibrations are subjected to vibration in the frequency range embracing resonance frequency of unsprung masses. Amplitude of vertical dynamic contact loads between wheel and vibrating table is measured. Vertical contact loads between the wheel and the vibrating table are recorded. Minimum value of vertical dynamic loads between wheel and vibrating table at resonance moment is determined. Air pressure in the tire is pre-measured and set at the upper boundary of the standard value. Vibrating table vibration amplitude is set in accordance with mean-square height of road irregularities by expression: Av=0.5qms√2, and determining damper efficiency by formula: Kef=Pres.min./Pst.⋅100, where Av is vibration amplitude of vibrating platform; qms is mean-square height of road irregularities; Pres.min – minimum value of vertical dynamic loads between wheel and vibrating table in resonance area; Pst. static load of wheel on vibrating table.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and broader functional capabilities.
