SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurology, neurophysiology. Method comprises assessing patient's condition by recording electroencephalography, determining alpha-rhythm spectral power in frontal-central leads (Fp2, F4, F8, C4) and inter-hemispheric coherence in T3-T4 leads in right hemispheric stroke, spectral power of alpha-rhythm in left temporal lead of T3 and index of interhemispheric coherence in T3-T4 leads in left-hemisphere stroke. If alpha-rhythm power values in frontal-central leads are less than 5 mcV2 and the value of interhemispheric coherence in T3-T4 leads is less than 0.3, cognitive disorders in right hemispheric stroke are diagnosed. If the alpha-rhythm power in the left temporal lead T3 is less than 8 mcV2 and the value of interhemispheric coherence in T3-T4 leads less than 0.3, cognitive disorders accompanying left brain hemorrhage are diagnosed.

EFFECT: use of the invention provides higher accuracy and simplified diagnostics.
