METHOD FOR EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TREATMENT OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT IN PATIENTS WITH ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/369 A61B5/372

Abstract RU 2777249 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely cardiology, therapy, neurology, and can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy for cognitive impairment in patients with arterial hypertension (AH). Electroencephalographic examination (EEG) is performed prior to the appointment of drug therapy. The average frequency index and the relative power value of the main alpha rhythm in the occipital leads and the total bioelectric activity are determined. Also, the indicator of slow rhythmics (ISR) in the anterior frontal leads is determined. If the ISR value is greater than 40%, then antihypertensive therapy is additionally treated with drugs with predominantly vasoactive and/or neuroprotective effects. After a course of drug therapy, the EEG is repeated. The average frequency index and the relative power value of the main alpha rhythm in the occipital leads and the total bioelectric activity are re-determined. If these indicators remain unchanged or decrease compared to those obtained before treatment, then treatment is considered ineffective. If at least one of these three indicators increases, then this course of therapy is considered effective.

EFFECT: method provides an increase in accuracy and simplification of the procedure when choosing the tactics of drug treatment of cognitive impairment in patients with hypertension by evaluating the complex of the most significant indicators.
