FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to clinical pharmacology, neurology, pediatrics. Method of antioxidant status correction in children epilepsy monotherapy consists in the fact that epileptic patients aged 1 year and older accompanying carbamazepine monotherapy in average therapeutic dose 10–20 mg/kg of body weight per day, or Valproic acid in an average therapeutic dose of 25–30 mg/kg of body weight per day, intravenously drop-by-drop Reamberin 1.5 % solution for infusion 200 ml at rate of 40–80 drops per minute once day for 5 days. Method implementation promotes normalization of cellular energy exchange due to activation of energy-synthesizing mitochondrial functions against background of intensity reduction of processes of lipid peroxidation that provides complex action of drug on cell metabolism, preventing developing side effects of anticonvulsants and improving the functional state of the patient.
EFFECT: method enables providing the antioxidant status correction in the epilepsy monotherapy in the patients under the conditions of reducing the length of the course of pharmacological correction of the lipid peroxidation processes to 5 days and the daily dose of the succinate-containing agent to 200 ml in comparison with the prototype.
