METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF INULIN FROM VEGETABLE RAW MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC C08B37/18

Abstract RU 2712554 C1

FIELD: pharmaceutics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of biologically active substances from herbal raw material. Method of deriving inulin from dandelion roots includes extraction by purified water heated to boiling point of milled dandelion roots in an ultrasonic bath; separation of plant material by filtration; depositing water-soluble polysaccharides by cooling in a freezing chamber; filtering the precipitate through a dried ash-free paper filter under vacuum; washing the precipitate on the filter, drying the filter with the residue to constant weight. Prior to flushing, inuline is purified from impurities. Residue obtained after filtration under vacuum is dissolved in heated to 80 °C purified water, 50 % calcium chloride solution is added thereto in amount of 5 drops per 1 g of initially taken vegetal raw material and 0.5 g of finely dispersed aluminum oxide powder, held for 20 minutes, then filtered under vacuum at residual pressure of 0.4–0.8 atm. Produced filtrate is successively passed through ion-exchange columns with anionite in hydroxyl form AV-17-8 and cationite in hydrogen form KU-2-8 to pH of eluate 6.5–7.5 and degree of purity of inulin equal to 97 %. Thereafter, to add inuline to the eluate, a threefold amount of 95 % ethanol is added again while stirring while cooling in a freezer at -18 °C for 1 hour. Precipitate is then filtered through a pre-dried ash-free paper filter under vacuum at residual pressure of 0.4–0.8 atm.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at deep purification of target product from impurities with achievement of degree of purity equal to 97±2 %, in absence of use of hazardous and toxic substances.
