FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering and can be used in creation of solar space power plants of local power supply of the Earth. System for power transmission to the Earth from orbital solar power plant includes solar battery, converter of electric current to microwave energy, phased antenna array, receiving rectifier antenna. Orbital solar power plant is output to geosynchronous orbit with perigee of 300…1,000 km above receiving antenna on the Earth. Two power accumulators are introduced into the station structure: the first accumulates electric power received from the solar battery during the flight of the station along the orbit, the second accumulates electric power from the ground receiving rectifying antenna during the session of transfer of energy to the ground receiving antenna on the microwave beam at flight of the station above the ground receiving antenna.
EFFECT: reduced size of antenna systems of SPS with preservation of relatively high efficiency of energy transfer and possibility of its deployment on a working orbit using existing transport space-rocket equipment.
