FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biology and experimental medicine and can be used in research related to the study of mechanical properties of bone tissue samples of the epimetaphyseal zone using methods adopted in material science. Method for preparing samples of human subchondral bone tissue for studying its mechanical characteristics in uniaxial compression involves sampling bone fragments together with an articular cartilage, making a workpiece. Workpiece shape is made with the help of crown cutter so that axis of cylinder coincides with direction of axial physiological load bone extremity and was perpendicular to articular cartilage. Workpiece is cut into specimens, ends of which are ground to achieve plane parallelism, controlling their parallelism. Samples have final dimensions of 6 mm in diameter and 6 mm in height.

EFFECT: invention provides obtaining samples of regular geometrical shape, which enables to evaluate properties of trabecular bone as a material, the technique is fairly simple to implement, does not require large material and time costs.
