METHOD FOR MONITORING A PATIENT'S CONDITION Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/53

Abstract RU 2713942 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to methods of patient's condition monitoring in surgery, traumatology, resuscitation and intensive therapy, as well as in clinical physiology, and can be used to assess the state of patients of different age groups and nosological forms, conscious or unconscious, using parameters of phasic component of electrodermal activity (EDA). Temporal analysis of the EDA phasic component reflecting sympathetic excitation is recorded and analyzed. Variability of the phasic EDA parameters is determined and the patient's state is assessed by a generalized index by calculating the quotient of the sum of the oscillation frequency index, the oscillation coefficient, coefficient of variation and rhythm index of phased EDA by number of parameters. To assess the patient's state in the process of monitoring by the phasic EDA parameter variability, the absolute values of the analyzed parameters are evaluated by 7-point system. Patient's satisfactory state corresponds to values of generalized patient's state less than 3.1 points.

EFFECT: higher objectivity of assessment of patient's state in monitoring by unification of interpretation of obtained data regardless of qualification and experience of medical personnel and providing a method suitable for everyday practice of monitoring the state of patients of various nosological forms and age groups, conscious or unconscious.
