FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used for intramedullary femoral osteosynthesis in young children under seven. At low and high transverse fractures, flexible titanium fixation rods are delivered through the distal portion of the diaphysis under trochanter major 2 cm below the growth area. Before installation, the rods are uniformly bent along the entire length in the form of the letter C so that the bending vertex is located at the center of the fracture, and the height of the bend is equal to three diameters of the bone canal. Elimination of displacement along axis is performed by means of fixing rods themselves, by means of their rotation. Final reduction is achieved by rotation of fixation rods with bent ends outside the spongy bone substance under X-ray control. After correct reposition is achieved, final fixing rod fixation is performed to keep them from turning; at that, one of bent ends should be directed towards femoral neck, and the other one – towards trochanter major with spongy bone entry. Flexible resilient titanium rods-fixators of round profile are used, width of which should be not less than visible width of bone channel on fluoroscopy, axial stability of the fracture is achieved by bending free ends of the fixing rod at angle of 80 degrees. Then ends of fixing rod are shortened at distance of 0.5 cm from cortical layer of bone.

EFFECT: method provides higher axial stability of osteosynthesis, reduced soft tissue injuries with implant removal, reduced time of surgical intervention, improved cosmetic results ensured by using elastic titanium fixation rods.
