SUBSTANCE: claimed invention can be used in microbiology and water treatment. Chamber 1 for generation of pulsed electric field, which comprises tube 2 with two open ends 3 and 4, equipped with fasteners 5 and 6. Tube 2 has length L from one of its open ends 3 to its other open end 4 and inner width IW from one side to another in cross section perpendicular to said length L. In tube 2 there is a section of geometric narrowing in place located within said length L of tube 2. Chamber 1 is equipped with electrode units 7, 8 installed opposite each other on said section of geometric narrowing within specified length L of tube 2. Between electrodes (7, 8) there is an area extending to distance D2 within internal width IW, which is distance between electrodes (7, 8). Said region is less than 50 % of the region formed outside the geometric narrowing portion and extending over a distance D1 inner width IW. Electrode blocks (7, 8) are installed with formation of tube-like surface in the form of semicircular arch.
EFFECT: invention provides higher pressure and application of pulsed electric field precisely within the created narrowing.
