ELECTRONIC ACCELERATOR BRAKING RADIATION TARGET Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC H05H5/02 G01T1/36

Abstract RU 2714883 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electronic accelerator braking radiation target. Target comprises in-series located along the radiation path, input and output collimators with through holes on the axis and a braking radiation converter arranged between them, made from material with thickness providing maximum output BR in direction of beam passage, and cooling channel. Target additionally comprises housing with inlet and outlet windows and compartment for installation of collimators, front input collimator is installed focusing system, consisting of focusing electrodes and solenoid, and cooling channel on one side adjoins BR converter and additionally installed on the side of output collimator to sealing element from low-density material on the other side. At that, cooling channel consists of two parts and in section by plane perpendicular to beam direction, represents two circular sectors with different angles, note here that part of channel with smaller at least three times angle makes inlet section while larger part represents discharge channel. Also, at least two temperature sensors are installed in contact zone of converter BR and input collimator.

EFFECT: high quality of the required braking radiation field owing to increasing field uniformity and increasing the number of quanta BR per unit surface, longer service life of the device, as well as improved operational capabilities by placing the target in a single housing with a spatial movement mechanism and fasteners.
