FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of producing aromatic hydrocarbons, comprising passing methanol and carbon monoxide through a reactor loaded with a catalyst based on an acidic molecular sieve ZSM-5, which does not contain a metal additive, to obtain aromatic hydrocarbons under the following reaction conditions: reaction temperature is from 350 to 550 °C, reaction pressure is from 0.5 to 10.0 MPa and the volume rate of methanol per unit weight is from 0.01 to 20 h-1, and molar ratio of methanol to carbon monoxide is less than or equal to 1:20 and greater than or equal to 1:100.
EFFECT: method of producing aromatic hydrocarbons from methanol, which has advantages in terms of improving selectivity when producing aromatic hydrocarbons and the service life of the catalyst without significant deterioration of the operating characteristics of the catalyst after regeneration.
