FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology. Disclosed is a bioreactor with plug flow for anaerobic fermentation of organic wastes and a method of optimizing operation of said bioreactor. Bioreactor comprises a tank and a mixer, wherein mixer comprises shaft running across tank inner surface, multiple shaft blades and drive. Bioreactor also contains a measuring mechanism for determination of torque and/or power of the drive, control device for regulation of shaft rotation frequency, direction of rotation of the shaft and/or fraction of dry substance in the fermented material. Method includes measurement of torque and/or drive power, comparison of measured value with specified nominal value and depending on deviation of measured torque value and/or drive power from rated value shaft speed control, shaft rotation direction and/or dry substance fraction in fermented material.
EFFECT: inventions provide optimum fermentation and degassing with lower energy costs.
