FIELD: electric power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power engineering and can be used for location of faults in power transmission lines or in networks, in particular, for remote determination of coordinates of corona discharge place on high-voltage power transmission line. Method for remote determination of corona discharge coordinates on high-voltage power transmission line consists in passing radiation from analyzed object through optical system in solar-blind range, detecting the output of the radiation detector, determining the distance from the radiation detector to the radiation source. Radiation detector in the form of a radiometer with a narrow-field optical system is placed at a stationary monitoring station with respect to the extended section of the high-voltage power transmission line to be monitored, determining the geographical coordinates of the location of the radiometer and fixing them in the memory, determining the geographic coordinates of the supports of the extended section of the high-voltage power transmission line to be monitored and recording them in a storage device. Then, radiometer fields of vision are moved in space along curvilinear trajectory providing for finding within it only one of wires of controlled extended section of high-voltage power transmission line, angular positions of the optical axis of the radiometer are recorded, on which signals which indicate presence of radiation are detected by the radiometer. Further, the geographical coordinates of the radiation sources are calculated, the calculated geographical coordinates of the radiation sources are displayed, successively repeating the scanning operations, fixing the directions to the radiation sources, calculating and displaying their coordinates for the remaining wires of the extended section of the high-voltage power transmission line to be monitored.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables rapid determination of coordinates of the location of corona discharge on an extended section of a high-voltage power transmission line with accuracy determined by the angular size of the field of view of the narrow-field SVU radiometer in the horizontal plane.
