FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrodynamic brake systems for vehicles. Proposed device comprises electric energy dissipation means and switching means to transmit electric power from power buses to electric power dissipation means. At that, electric energy dissipation means includes inductance coil and heat-absorbing element made of electrically conductive diamagnetic or ferromagnetic material and adapted for its heating at action of magnetic field generated by inductance coil. Switching device is made with possibility to create alternating current in inductance coil and contains half-bridge transistor module, output of which is connected to resonant circuit formed by inductance coil and at least one capacitor.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increase in the braking energy absorption power with simultaneous reduction of the device volume and weight.
