FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: solar tracking installation includes an intermediate frame in the form of a round cylindrical beam (1) installed with possibility of rotation by means of the first cylindrical hinges (2), (5) on two posts (3), (6) attached to base (4), frame (13) of solar panels, which is attached with possibility of rotation to beam (1) by means of support (17) with second cylindrical hinge (18), which axis lies in plane orthogonal to axes of first cylindrical hinges (2), (5), and control unit (25) connected by first and second outputs to first and second drives (19), (21). Frame (13) is equipped with the first optical solar sensor (23) sensitive to displacement of the Sun in the plane of the ecliptic, and the second solar sensor (24), which is sensitive to displacement of the Sun in the plane passing through the Earth axis and location of the installation. One of posts (3) or (6) is equipped with mechanism (8) of its vertical reciprocal movement. Method of orientation of the Sun tracking device consists in determining directions of the sides of light at the location of the installation on the ground, and the axes of the first cylindrical hinges (2), (5) of the intermediate frame in the form of a round cylindrical beam (1) are installed in the east-west direction, and beam (1) is installed at an angle to the horizontal line, which is equal to the geographical latitude of the installation location.
EFFECT: installation for tracking the Sun and method of its orientation are characterized by considerable reduction of daily required displacement of position of solar panels (14), (15), saving of consumed electric power and increase of service life of the installation.
