FIELD: physics; electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to integrated circuits (IC) electronics and can be used in radio-electronic equipment for protection of microcircuits from action of heavy charged particles, high-energy protons, pulse ionizing radiation and beam weapons. For this purpose, proposed is method, which consists in measurement of current supply IC, limitation and disconnection of current supply IC during detection of occurrence of thyristor effect, and occurrence of thyristor effect is determined by current accumulation when it occurs. Proposed IC thyristor effect protection device comprises current transducer, protection device for maximum current, as well as difference amplifier of current and previous current values at two current integrators, device to extract thyristor effect current and timers providing required algorithm of device operation.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the accuracy of detecting the fact of the thyristor effect and the reliability of the apparatus containing programmable IC when exposed to heavy charged particles is increased by 10–15 times.
