LARGE VOLUME WATER ELECTROLYSIS SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE THEREOF Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC B01D61/38 C01D3/06 C02F1/461 C25B1/04 C25B9/18 C25B11/04 C25C3/02

Abstract RU 2716075 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for producing electrochemically activated solutions for simultaneous production of alkaline electrolysed water and acid electrolysed water. Electrolysis system for electrolysis of a saline solution containing water and ions of an alkaline salt for obtaining acid electrolysed water and alkaline electrolyzed water contains: - reservoir for filling it with a salt solution containing cations and anions, and formation of a bath with a salt solution; - an electrolytic cartridge mounted in said reservoir and immersed in a bath with saline solution; the electrolytic cartridge comprising a cathode cell and an anode cell; and the cathode cell comprises a pair of cathode electrodes connected to the power supply, negatively charging the cathode electrodes; - cathode electrode holder supporting cathode electrodes in one plane so that they are located nearby at a distance from each other in lateral direction in corresponding sealed chambers; - at least one cation-permeable membrane located on one side of each of cathode electrodes with formation of space between each cathode electrode and cation-permeable membrane, through which passage of salt solution cations through this cation-permeable membrane is provided; wherein each of said spaces between cathode electrodes and cation-permeable membrane is communicated with inlet channel for supply of fresh water at inlet end of space and with outlet channel for discharge of chemical cleaning product at outlet end of space; space between cathode electrodes and cation-permeable membrane are sealed relative to each other and salt solution so that the only way for saline solution to enter said spaces passes through cation-permeable membrane; and the anode cell comprises a pair of anode electrodes connected to the power supply, positively charging the anode electrodes; - holder of anode electrodes, which supports anode electrodes in one plane so that they are located nearby at a distance from each other in lateral direction in corresponding sealed chambers; at least one anion-permeable membrane arranged on one side of the anode electrodes to form a space between each anode electrode and an anion-permeable membrane, through which the anions can pass from the saline solution through the anion-permeable membrane; wherein each of said spaces between anode electrodes and anion-permeable membrane is communicated with inlet channel for supply of fresh water at inlet end of space and with outlet channel for discharge of chemical cleaning product at outlet end of space; and said spaces between anode electrodes and anion-permeable membrane are sealed relative to each other and salt solution so that a single path for saline solution to enter said spaces passes through an anion-impermeable membrane.

EFFECT: technical result is high output of electrolysed water in given pH ranges.
