FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of sorbate powder for syrup or beverage. Method involves dissolving the sorbate salt in water, adding a stabilizing carrier to the sorbate solution and spray drying the carrier and sorbate solution to form sorbate powder. Stabilizing carrier and the sorbate are present at a ratio in range of 0.1:10 to 10:0.1. Carrier and sorbate solution has a pH value in range of 4 to 11. Powder contains from 20 to 80 wt. % of sorbate in relation to total weight of powder. Invention relates to a method for production of syrup for drinks and syrup for beverages including combination of water, powder of sorbate and at least one ingredient selected from sweeteners and flavours.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain sorbate powder which is stable in drinks syrup.
