SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods of making a drilling tool. Proposed method comprises fabrication of tool body including multiple back slots for cutting elements formed in blades of tool body. At least a part of each of said multiple back slots for cutting elements has a profile matching the profile of the corresponding real cutting element to be secured inside the slot for the cutting element, which is performed by subsequent machining of the groove from said plurality of back slots for cutting elements. Method of drilling tool making also includes application of first reinforcing material on sections of tool body blade, surrounding it outer edge of each of multiple back slots for cutting elements, applying second differing reinforcing material to tool body blade sections immediately adjacent to first reinforcing material, making multiple back slots for real cutting elements by removing material of tool body inside each of multiple back slots for cutting elements after application of reinforcing material on sections of tool body and fixation of cutting elements inside multiple slots for cutting elements. Second reinforcing material is located between adjacent slots of multiple back slots for cutting elements.
EFFECT: technical result consists in provision of accuracy of location and/or angular orientation of grooves for cutting elements.
