FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to dentistry, and can be used for determining the facial skeleton growth type. Teleroentgenogram (TRG) in the lateral projection is used to construct a coordinate system through a tangential line to the upper edge of the external auditory canal and the lower edge of the orbit, and a line perpendicular thereto through the middle of the entrance to the Turkish saddle. Row of points on the skull TRG is determined in the lateral projection: or, n, ss, pg, gn, me, com, ram, go, co, se, icm, fn, ss', cc'. Following parameters are calculated: P1=(or-gn)×100/(ss'-cc'); P2=co(n-pg)×100/icm(n-se); P3=or(co-go)×100/or(me-com); P4=co(n-ss) × 100/fn(n-se), P5=ss(se-ram)×100/(fn(n-se)+fn(me-com)). When conditions 101≤P1≤119, 82≤P2≤94, 86≤P3≤95, 160≤P4≤180, 66≤P5≤75 are met, facial skeleton growth type is defined as neutral. When conditions P1<101, P2>94, P3>95, P4>180, P5>75 are met, facial skeleton growth type is defined as horizontal. When conditions P1>119, P2<82, P3<86, P4<160, P5<66, are met facial skeleton growth type is defined as vertical.

EFFECT: method provides more accurate determination of facial skeleton growth type, which provides accurate diagnosis, further planning and forecast of orthodontic treatment.
