SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to orthodontics, and can be used to determine the direction of growth of jaws during occlusion of permanent teeth. Lateral teleroentgenogram (TRG) is obtained, on which points N – nasion, S – point in the centre of the sella turcica, Im – the uppermost point on the lower contour of the lower jaw body, Me – menton are marked. Straight line NS and line MP are drawn between points Im and Me. Angle between straight lines NS and MP is determined. Horizontal direction of jaw growth is determined if the angle between the straight lines NS and MP is less than 28.65°. Neutral growth direction of the jaws is determined at the angle between the straight lines NS and MP of 28.65° up to 35.97°. Vertical direction is determined if the value of the angle between the straight lines NS and MP exceeds 35.97°.

EFFECT: method provides fast, reliable, reliable and accurate analysis of the direction of growth of jaws in the period of occlusion of permanent teeth by determining the angle between straight lines NS and MP.
