FIELD: transport machine building.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of detecting a fault in a vehicle brake booster system. Vehicle comprises an engine intake manifold that provides a primary vacuum source for the brake booster system, and a secondary vacuum source for the brake booster system. Method comprises: measuring the pressure in the brake booster chamber and the pressure in the engine intake manifold when the activation command is emitted to the secondary vacuum source; comparison of measured pressure values in brake booster chamber and in intake manifold; determining presence of secondary vacuum source faults; and limitation of use of the first auxiliary electrical and/or mechanical system which selects engine power in case of failure, to reduce and/or maintain pressure in the intake manifold.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in braking efficiency.
