FIELD: land reclamation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of land reclamation and is intended for determination of minimum moisture capacity (MMC) of chernozem and kastanozem soils of steppe and dry steppe type of soil formation. In the method within the examined soil profile, the values of the minimum moisture capacity of soil (WMMC)i,det, % of WDS, content in soil of clay particles (Wc)i, % of WDS, density of addition of soil layers or horizons (γi, t/m3), content of humus (ghum)i, %, capacity of humus-accumulative layer hhum, m, are leaf-by-leaf instrumentally determined. Values of the minimum moisture capacity ((WMMC)i,cal, % of WDS) are additionally determined in analytical calculation by empirical relationship:

where is average density of soil composition in the soil profile, t/m3. Total value of minimum moisture capacity of soil (WMMC)i is determined by relationship: .

EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce labor costs at determination of minimum moisture capacity of chernozem and kastanozem soils of steppe and dry steppe type of soil formation during complex soil investigations without loss of measurement accuracy.
