FIELD: paper production; cellulose production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making paper and paper products. Method involves adding an enzyme which forms an isopeptide bond to the cellulose composition or suspension and, optionally, a protein. Isopeptide-linking enzyme is selected from transglutaminase [EC 2.3.2.13], grade [EC 3.4.22.71], ublachine activating enzyme (El's), ubiquitin-binding enzymes (E2's) and ubiquitin-ligase (E3's) [EC 6.3.2.19].
EFFECT: improved strength properties in dry state.
