SUBSTANCE: invention relates to discrete fracture networks and more specifically to determination of reliability of assessments of permeability of discrete fracture networks. Method for determining reliability of permeability assessment of discrete fracture network (DFN) includes selection of drilling sample of geological formation of interest, formation of DFN of the geological formation of interest based on the drilling sample, obtaining DFN of the geological formation of interest, wherein said DFN comprises a plurality of associated cracks, determining the directed equivalent permeability of the plurality of coupled DFN cracks using a numerical scaling method and determining the reliability of the directed equivalent permeability.

EFFECT: high efficiency and fast determination of reliability of estimates of permeability of a discrete fracture network.
