FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to recovery of rolling surface profile of wheelsets without wheeling out and can be used in mechanical treatment of working surface of wheels of rail vehicles using ultrasonic vibrations. Device for machining of wheelsets tire profile without wheeling out comprises machining tool is fixed in the housing and an acoustic system located in the housing, which is a piezoelectric transducer connected to a concentrator, on the end of which an ultrasonic radiator in the form of a waveguide is fixed. At the opposite side from the concentrator, the entire free surface of the waveguide is a shaped processing tool in the form of a cutter made with the possibility of providing tangential ultrasound turning, which includes one rotary motion and one rectilinear movement. Lengths of the radiator and concentrator are 1/4λ, while the length of converter is 1/2λ, where λ is the wavelength of the ultrasonic vibrations.

EFFECT: result is reduction of cutting forces and machining time of wheelsets without wheeling out with reduction of energy consumption and increase in cleanliness of surface of tire profile with reduction of its roughness.
