FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of artillery equipment and can be used as a master device of a finned armor-piercing-subcaliber projectile for tank and anti-tank guns. Leader of finned armor-piercing-subcaliber projectile comprises support assembly made of two parts secured with possibility of separation by means of cut elements. One part is made in the form of a stabilizer consisting of a pair of rings coaxially separated from the shell and connected by stiffness ribs. Second one is in form of a cover with a bottom to be separated from the barrel.
EFFECT: disclosed design of the driving device enables to increase armor penetration by increasing the relative elongation of the active part of the armor-piercing-subcaliber projectile and providing the required value of its flexural rigidity, as well as by using kinetic energy of the passive part mass at the initial stage of armor penetration with provision of stability on the flight trajectory due to application of the part of the support unit of the driving device which is not separated on the trajectory.
