SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method of establishing a secure channel for communication between a payment device and a terminal device using a Diffie-Hellman protocol based on elliptic curves, in which G is a generating point of an elliptical curve and the payment device has a unique secret key dc with a public key Qc = dcG, a certified member trusted by the terminal device, wherein the method comprises steps of generating a blinding coefficient r by the payment device and sending the blinded public key R = r Qc to the terminal device; by means of a terminal device, generating a short-term secret key dt and a corresponding short-term public key Q t = dtG and sending Qt to a payment device.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing effective protection against quadratic twisting attacks.
