SUBSTANCE: invention relates to three-dimensional image data. Method of signal processing of three-dimensional (3D) image data for rendering images on 3D-display comprises steps of: extract from signal first 3D-image depth map comprising first depth value; extracted from 3D-image signal data value, representing largest data value in 3D-image, and relevance indicates significant elements having significant range of depth values; define mapping function of depth for said data value 3D-image depending on data value, so that first depth values in meaningful range of depth displayed on sub-range depth of display, sub-range depth of display is sub-band range used depth of 3D-display and provides higher 3D-image quality to viewer than quality of 3D-image depth range used.
EFFECT: technical result - providing improved data visualization, 3D-image without degrading image quality.
