FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to primary processing of radar signals and can be used in an on-board radar station (OBRS) of a fighter to expand its functionality when detecting a group air target (GAT) in conditions of interference of DRFM type on side lobes of antenna pattern (AP). Method of OBRS operation of a fighter at detection of GAT consists in identification of interferences of DRFM type on side lobes AP, determining the number of jamming devices from the group, determining the membership of each aircraft of the group to the jamming aircraft based on the combined analysis of the amplitude and position of the spectral components of the radar signal spectrum received in the main and the compensation channels, and providing further processing of useful signal with simultaneous rejection of frequency positions corresponding to DRFM type interference.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the OBRS of the fighter when detecting GAT owing to recognition of the effect on side lobes of the AP frequency-focused interference of the DRFM type, the number of jamming aircraft in the group, accessories of each group aircraft to jamming aircraft and providing processing of useful signal with simultaneous noise reduction.
