FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway air system dehumidifiers, and more specifically to an air drier having a heater valve unit control system. Disclosed is an air drier having a heater connected to its inlet and outlet valves to prevent freezing at low temperatures. Air dryer has a temperature sensor connected to the valve unit, and a controller which can lock the valves when the temperature drops to a predetermined threshold unless the heater can sufficiently heat the valve unit. To prevent overheating of the heater, the controller can adjust the duty cycle of the heater as the air temperature of the inlet increases.

EFFECT: technical result is providing sufficient heat at extremely low temperatures without overheating at higher temperatures.
