SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Method of filter regeneration of solid particles of exhaust system of engine consists in the fact that in mode with idle engine (110) regenerate filter (72) of solid particles, connected in exhaust system downstream of engine (110), by turning on electric heater (73) of particulate filter and directing inlet air from engine intake system through solid particle filter (72) by controller (12). Inlet air is directed to bypass engine (110). Target temperature of solid particles filter (72) during regeneration is determined based on output signal of intake air mass flow sensor (121) by means of controller (12). Electric load of electric heater (73) during regeneration is controlled based on output signal of intake air mass flow sensor (121) by means of controller (74). Versions of the method for regeneration of the solid particles filter of the exhaust system of the engine are disclosed.

EFFECT: technical result consists in prevention of particulate filter overheating and in preventing deterioration of filter characteristics.
