FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to nonmagnetic cast irons. It can be used in precision machine building and electrotechnical industry. Non-magnetic iron contains, wt. %: carbon 2.8–3.5; silicon 2.1–2.5; manganese 8–12; copper 0.8–1.3; aluminium 0.3–0.7; chromium 0.02–0.06; REM 0.02–0.05; zirconium 0.05–0.12; barium 0.02–0.06; sulphur 0.01–0.06; nitrogen 0.01–0.03 and iron is the rest.
EFFECT: iron has low coefficient of linear expansion and good machinability of cutting.
