SUBSTANCE: invention group of inventions relates to an oral care composition containing a complex of naringin: zinc, as well as to methods of using and producing said composition. Disclosed is an oral care composition containing a combination of naringin: Zn, where said naringin: Zn complex is characterized by a molar ratio of naringin and zinc of 2:1. Also presented is a method for improvement of the oral cavity condition involving using an effective amount of the said oral care composition in relation to the oral cavity of the individual in need thereof. Improvement of the oral cavity can be selected by reducing the intensity or suppressing the formation of dental caries; reduced intensity, restoration or suppression of dental enamel; suppression of formation of microbial biofilms in oral cavity; teeth cleaning and oral cavity; reducing inflammation, and so forth. Also presented is a method for producing the above naringin: Zn complex, involving mixing naringin and a zinc source, providing a molar ratio of naringin and zinc 2:1, where said complex is obtained using pH 7–10.

EFFECT: using a complex of naringin and zinc, characterized by a ratio of: two moles of naringin to one mole of zinc, provides higher antibacterial activity of the composition, which can be useful when using the composition in the oral cavity.
