FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: lathe comprises movable head (2) made with possibility of rotation and supply of processed workpiece (8) relative to axis (14) of translation and rotation, guiding bushing (9) made with possibility of attachment to machine bed (1) and comprising spindle (13) bush and clamping chuck or clamping mechanism (5). Guide bushing (9) is made with possibility of operation either in bush mode or in mode of clamping chuck, and axial movement relative to bedplate along axis (14). Lathe is configured to operate in a first mode, in which there is possibility of axial movement of guide bushing by means of movable head, and in second mode, in which axial position of guide bushing relative to bed is invariable.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and expansion of technological capabilities.
