FIELD: motor vehicle industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling a car engine to solve the problem of formation of deposit on ignition plugs. Disclosed are methods and systems for solving problem of formation of soot deposit on ignition plug. In one example, high temperature of spark plug tip is increased and retained by earlier ignition moment and engine rpm increase with simultaneous reduction of EGR gases fed to engine. Actions to reduce deposit formation on ignition plug are adjusted on the basis of whether the engine is unworked and located in the assembly shop or not.
EFFECT: technical result is providing control of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) in response to detection of scavenging on ignition plug, which eliminates interference in cleaning ignition plug.
