FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling a vehicle engine. Disclosed is a method for eliminating scale formation on an ignition plug, which includes alternating one or more combustion events at a combustion moment set with advance, with one or more combustion events at a nominal combustion torque. Nominal moment of ignition is provided for first number of combustion events and provides second early moment of ignition in cylinder for second number of combustion events. First early moment and the first number of combustion events are based on one of the following: output signal of ionisation sensor, temperature of supercharging air, temperature of ignition plug, engine load, octane number of fuel, air-fuel ratio, humidity, percentage of spent gas recirculation (EGR) and engine temperature. Second early moment and second number of combustion events are controlled based on one of following: ionisation sensor output signal, supercharging air temperature, spark plug end temperature, engine load, fuel octane number, percentage of EGR, air-fuel ratio, humidity and temperature of engine, after providing the first early moment of ignition and provision of rated ignition moment.

EFFECT: technical result is reduced deposit on ignition plugs and reduced their overheating, as well as reduced detonation.
