FIELD: augmented or virtual reality systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to augmented reality or virtual reality (AR/VR) systems, specifically to adjusting the focus of an image in display means. Display device for the AR/VR system comprises at least one source of images of virtual objects, at least one display for displaying images of virtual objects and at least one tunable lens. Latter comprises at least two tunable optical cells, each having an electrode structure configured to adjust the focal length of the tunable lens such that the optical power of the tunable lens changes with an equal dioptric pitch Δ.
EFFECT: technical result consists in the possibility of fast adjustment of the focal length of the tunable lens with a given dioptric pitch within a wide range of the optical power of the lens.
