FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optical systems with variable focal distance and can be used in augmented or virtual reality (AR/VR) systems. An optical lens with an adjustable focal distance comprises a layer of an electroactive material and a structure of control electrodes, wherein the electrodes are connected with buses for applying a control voltage to the electrodes to form phase optical emission profiles. The structure of control electrodes implements no less than two electrode structures, wherein each of said no less than two electrode structures is connected with a set of buses different from the set of buses with which the other of said no less than two electrode structures is connected. No less than one electrode in no less than one of said no less than two electrode structures is connected with no less than two different buses.
EFFECT: providing a wide range of optical powers with a small thickness of the optical system.
