SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio communications. Method of performing communication includes: performing, by user equipment UE, handover from a first base station to a second base station, where UE performs communication at a first base station using a first PDU packet data connection through a first relay plane network element; and sending, by UE, handover indication information without a bearer channel to a second base station when performing handover, wherein handover indication information without a bearer channel is used to instruct a second base station not to establish a connection with a first network element of the relay plane.

EFFECT: technical result consists in avoiding establishment of connection between second base station and first network element of retransmission plane, due to which delay of handover of service flow is reduced.
