FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, traumatology and orthopaedics, and can be used for treating patients with oncological spinal injuries. Method involves surgical approach to the involved spinal area, spinal stabilization with a transpedicular structure, removal of one or more vertebras affected by the tumour, replacement of the formed defect with an implant. Transpedicular structure is installed in the areas above and below the operated region. Stabilization of the spine in the operated region is ensured by laminar fixation devices placed in the vertebrae adjoining the affected vertebra or vertebrae. Implant is an implant made of carbon material, having a cylindrical shape and sizes, anthropologically corresponding to the size of the replaced defect. Implant is made of a carbon composite material containing a carbon-fibre reinforcing base and a pyrocarbon matrix. Reinforcing base is made in the form of a frame of rods, containing carbon fibres, oriented along axis of rods, containing vertically installed rods and horizontal layers. Each layer is formed by parallel oriented rods. Rods of each layer are oriented relative to rods of previous and next layer at angle of 60°. Implant has porosity of 5–20 vol. %.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness ensured by defect replacement with an implant with a carbon-fibre reinforcing base and a pyrocarbon matrix.
