FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to molecularly imprinted polymers. Described is a plurality of macroporous polymer granules for selectively binding one or more metal target ions containing a copolymer, having a plurality of complexing cavities which selectively bind a metal ion target, where the copolymer is obtained from: (a) a ligand monomer which is cationic or anionic and is in complex with a substitute non-metallic ion, (b) a non-ligand monomer and (c) a cross-linking monomer, where (i) the charge in the complexing cavity of the copolymer is opposite to the charge of the metal target ion and (ii) the substitute non-metallic ion has substantially a shape and a charge similar to the metal target ion. Invention also describes a method of producing granules of a macroporous molecularly imprinted polymer, a method for selective extraction of one or more target metal ions from a solution.
EFFECT: improved operational characteristics when producing macroporous polymer.
