FIELD: physics; means of individual protection.
SUBSTANCE: portable system comprising an individual protection means for an employee working in the field of environment, which contains at least one contaminant hazardous for respiratory organs of said employee, wherein the system comprises: head protection device configured to at least partially cover an employee's head and defining a sealed inner space of the head protection device, which is configured to sealed to prevent the effect of ambient air on said inner space, wherein the head protection device comprises: a visor made of such a size to match the size of at least the eyes, nose and mouth of the worker, wherein visor is configured to expose said air to said airtight internal space defined by head protection device, when the visor is in the open position, and is configured to tightly seal said inner space, defined by the head protection device, to prevent the effect of ambient air on said inner space, when the visor is in a closed position, wherein the visor is located before at least the eyes, nose and mouth of the worker, and a position sensor attached to the head protection device and configured to transmit a position indication of said visor; a portable filter powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) connected to a head protection device for supplying clean air into said sealed inner space defined by the head protection device; wherein said PAPR includes an air supply unit for feeding clean air into the head protection device; hose configured to connect the PAPR with the head protection device to provide clean air supply to the head protection device; sensor for detecting air pollutants, configured to detect a contaminant in air external to said head protection device, wherein said contaminant is a substance hazardous to respiratory organs of said worker, wherein said head protection device is configured such that said contaminant can be inhaled by worker when visor is in open position, and preventing contamination of clean air with said contaminant within said sealed inner space defined by head protection when visor is in closed position; at least one processor configured to perform the following: receiving the position indication of the visor; determining, based on the visor position indication, whether the visor is in the closed position, in the partially open position, or in open position; determining whether the contamination level in air external to said head protection is a predetermined contamination threshold value; and in response to determining that said contamination level exceeds a predetermined contamination threshold value and that the visor is in a partially open position or in an open position, generating a warning signal to an employee indicating that the contamination level exceeds a predetermined contamination threshold value, wherein the warning signal comprises at least one of the following signals: a vibration signal, an audio signal, a visual light signal.
EFFECT: indication of hazardous external action in respiratory system with air supply is disclosed.
