SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an article which is a plurality of personal protective equipment (PPE), each of which is fixed after a specific worker. Protection system may comprise data concentrator, which detects input, which initiates transfer of self-control diagnostic messages; identifies, in response to input, each item representing PPE from a plurality of articles, which are PPE; transmits, based on identification of each article, which is PPE, self-control diagnostic messages to corresponding products, which are PPE, wherein each article, which is PPE, receives its corresponding self-monitoring message on its communication component; determines whether a set of diagnostic confirmation messages corresponds to one or more self-monitoring criteria, in response to receiving a set of diagnostic confirmation messages from one or more of the plurality of items, which are PPE, performing diagnostic self-monitoring; and performs one or more operations based on whether self-monitoring criteria are met.
