FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of materials for fuel cells and supercondensers. Method of producing nanostructured nickel hydroxide involves precipitation thereof in the presence of chitosan from a reaction mixture containing hexaqua nickel (II) chloride solution and a urea solution. Content of urea (NH2)2CO and hexaqua nickel chloride NiCl2⋅6H2O in the reaction mixture is, mol/l: NiCl2⋅6H2O 0.07–0.5, (NH2)2CO 0.5–2.0. Chitosan is introduced into reaction mixture in amount of 0.1–0.2 wt% in form of 2 % solution in 0.01 M hydrochloric acid. Deposition is carried out in an open vessel at 90–95 °C for 8.0–9.0 hours. Obtained gel-like residue after cooling to room temperature is filtered under vacuum, washed, dried in air and subjected to heat treatment at 100–105 °C for 50–60 min to obtain α-phase of nickel hydroxide Ni(OH)2.
EFFECT: invention enables to ensure homogeneous deposition of nickel hydroxide Ni(OH)2 with formation of a stable α-phase with simplification of the method and its hardware, reduced time consumption.
