SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for electric arc welding, in particular for welding of galvanized steel sheets. Ultra-low-silicon wire contains, wt. %: C 0.001–0.30, Si 0.15 or less, Mn 0.50–3.00, P 0.030 or less, S 0.030 or less, Fe and unavoidable impurities are the rest. Ratio of silicon and manganese content to Si2/Mn is 0.015 or less. When welding with said wire, weld metal is obtained, containing silicon-based oxide slag attached to its surface, the area of which to the entire surface area of the weld metal is 5 % or less.
EFFECT: surfaced metal using this wire has excellent resistance to porosity and provides high coating properties of electrolytic coating during its subsequent application.
