FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control and measuring equipment, namely to technology and means of electromagnetic control of thickness of anticorrosive coating of steel pipes, and can be used for pipe production in technological process, which includes application of anticorrosive coating on surface of seamless and welded pipes. Method for controlling thickness of anticorrosive coating of steel pipe, which is in production flow and performing screw motion on rotating rollers, includes determination of thickness of anticorrosive coating of moving pipe using eddy current sensors, which generate signal on thickness of anticorrosive coating. Sensors are fixed relative to controlled section of moving pipe surface and are distributed in staggered order. Controlled section is oriented along the pipe generatrix and extends beyond the pitch of the screw motion of the pipe. In real time using a computer program embedded in an industrial computer, comparing data on thickness of coating obtained by processing the eddy current sensors signal, with data on required thickness of anticorrosive coating and detecting defect section of pipe surface, which corresponds to deviation from required thickness of anticorrosion coating. Marking is applied on surface of defect section.
EFFECT: technical result is wider range of means used to control thickness of anticorrosive coating on pipes, high accuracy of control, eliminating the presence of blind areas of pipe surface.
