FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new high-strength aluminium alloys 6xxx and methods of obtaining thin aluminium sheets therefrom. 6xxx aluminium alloy contains, wt. %: 0.001–0.25 Cr, 0.4–2.0 Cu, 0.10–0.30 Fe, 0.5–2.0 Mg, 0.005–0.40 Mn, 0.5–1.5 Si, up to 0.15 Ti, up to 4.0 Zn, up to 0.2 Zr, up to 0.2 Sc, up to 0.25 Sn, up to 0.1 Ni, up to 0.15 impurities, the rest - aluminium. Method of obtaining thin sheet of aluminium alloy 6xxx includes casting of aluminium alloy 6xxx, heating to temperature of 510°C to 590 °C and holding for 0.5 to 4 hours, reduced temperature to 420–480 °C, hot rolling to thickness of 18 mm at hot rolling termination temperature from 330°C to 390 °C, heat treatment at temperature of 510 °C to 540 °C for 0.5 to 1 hour and quenching.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improvement of mechanical properties of 6xxx aluminium alloys.
